I started working in a lab in 2012 during the summer between 1st and 2nd year of Uni. But then in 2013 I also did a placement year, where I worked in a research lab for 12 months which was really fun. I eventually started my proper career from 2015 when I started my PhD

I got my first job straight after uni in 2009 where I worked for an animal pharmaceutical company where they made medication for animals. After this I decided to come to uni and start my PhD. So I would say I’ve been a proper scientist for 8 years now!

My scientific career started after my masters in 2006. But I went back to study my PhD in 2009. I have since been employed in science since 2014.

I started my degree in Biology in 2011, I would only just now start to call myself a ‘proper’ scientist as I am working as a PhD student
