• Question: In your opinion what is the most beneficial microorganism to us. Virus, fungi, protozoan, bacteria and algae.

      There’s lots of beneficial microbes. Some viruses helped us evolve, whilst some parasites live in our hair and eat dead cells, whereas some bacteria help us to digest food. Lots of them have benefits, so I couldn’t pick one!

      Oooh a toughie! They all have their benefits, but I am going to be biased on this occasion! I am working with a type of virus that attacks bacteria (bacteriophages) and I am studying them in the hope that they can replace antibiotics for one particular infection caused by the bacteria C. difficile, so because you have asked I will say at the moment in my life viruses are more beneficial, especially for my work 🙂
