      Great question!! And you are right in saying that methane is a harmful greenhouse gas (it’s actually 23X worse than carbon dioxide)… so, why would I do this?!

      The reason is I capture the methane rather than releasing it into the environment. Capturing it allows it the be burnt to generate renewable energy. Any carbon dioxide released from burning will be reabsorbed by the grass or other plants during photosynthesis, so there are no overall greenhouse gas emissions.
