This is a tough one, the optimistic answer will be I hope so, however bacteria are always evolving to be stronger and more resistant and new bacteria may also be discovered so I think rather than defeating them (as in reality not all bacteria are bad) we need to try and have control of the bad bacteria and make some positive use out of the good bacteria.

Same as Ananthi, hopefully we will find a way to prevent disease-causing bacteria from thriving. Though we have to remember that not all bacteria or microorganisms are bad, there are millions and billions of bacteria in our body that actually help our body to function (such as digestion.) And the microorganisms I work with help us generate renewable energy to help prevent the negative effects of climate change … so they’re not all bad 🙂

As Ananthia and Aaron have said, bacteria have been on the planet for so many years, but they still figure out a way to make us sick and spread, like with antibiotic resistance. But hopefully through lots of new techniques to make vaccines and drugs we will be better than ever at combatting bacterial infections!

Not all bacteria no, because the majority of them are good bacteria that help all living things on earth live a normal life! As for the bad ones I don’t think we will ever defeat them completely because they are always changing and mutating to try to beat us but we can certainly keep fighting and winning the small battles!
