• Question: How come some cancers are curable whilst some aren't?

      Usually it depends on two things which aren’t really scientific, one how far has the cancer spread? Because if it has got too big then it might be impossible to get rid of it all! Secondly it depends on where it is in the body, because they way we treat most cancers at the moment is with radiotherapy and drugs but the radiation is also harmful to normal cells. This means if the cancer is in an important part of the body like the brain then using radiotherapy would be dangerous to the brain cells and could in fact do more harm than good!
